Depends on the person. For me and my missing 65 pounds - Atkins rules...although I do eat whole grains sometimes - just keep carb count as low as possible.

Don't eat anything that has sugar or flour in it and the pounds melt off. Worked for me and I lost 18 lbs. in 4 1/2 weeks.

Technically, we are all on a diet. A diet is what you intake. However there are all sorts of diets. Low carb, Protien, etc. The best diet, is to eat 3 meals a day. Breakfast being the biggest as it is the most important meal of the day. Make sure you eat a variety of foods, and getting enough vitamin's and such out of all meals to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Try cutting back gradually. 1600 a day to start. Then drop 100 calories a week until you're at 1200 a day. Always "think healthy first". Try fruit instead of giving into junk food snacks. Most fruits have a very high water content so they can make you feel fuller without gobbling a ton of empty calories. They also have a lot vitamins and minerals everyone can use especially when making big lifestyle changes. That combined with 30 to 40 minutes of exercise everyday should have you losing 2 to 3 healthy pounds a week. So start walking, then walk/jogging until you can do the whole 30 minutes without a rest. That will give you lasting results without starving yourself. Eat what you like. Of course healthier is better but not everyone is the salad and tofu type. Just keep a journal of everything you eat with the calorie count. That will give you and idea of where you need to make changes. This is going to take some time ok? so stay focused. It took time for you to get where you, are so it will take time to get where you're going. Good luck

For most people your metabolism changes as you get older. Your body stores more fat...I've found that cutting down on the snacking is a big help.....It's HARD!! especially if you luv to eat. Most people eat because their bored and not really hungry..... I always say to cut out the word diet.......when you want to lose serious weight it's a lifestyle change. Good luck.

Follow the Ayurveda rules here I give you an example: According to Ayurveda, every food has its own taste (rasa), a heating or cooling energy (virya) and post-digestive effect (vipak). When two or three different food substances of different taste, energy and post-digestive effect are combined together agni can become overloaded inhibiting the enzyme system and resulting in production of toxins in the system.
