Why does life have its ups and downs like a rollercoaster? Why can't it be a joy ride going all the way up?

I guess that's what life is. Without all the downs we can not experience thus making us a better person. In the end, life is what you make of it. You choose the path on which you wish to follow.

G'day Alanpro777, Thank you for your question. I guess we would not appreciate the highs as much without the lows. We would become bored due to the lack of challenges. As well, the final down is death which happens to us all so life without at least one down. Regards

I think it's true that if you don't have the lows the highs would mean nothing. And you would never recognize the highs unless you have the lows to compare them to. It would make the extraordanry just a normal day. But it does suck.

We have to understand that life is life, and that life has it's ups and downs, and we know that these times will come anyways. About the joy ride, if we had a joy ride going just up, sooner or later, we would reach into space, sufficate with no oxygen, and die; I can't imagine as something plunging down into!
