I don't believe in love at first sight.

I believe in lust or attraction at first sight, BUT I think you need to get to know the person inside and out to love them. :)

I have fallen in love at first sight, it was amazing. The way she looked, the way she smiled, the way she carried herself, the way she laughed, the way she spoke, the sound of her voice, the way she smelt, she had perfect facial features, eyes, nose, lips....she was and in my book, still is perfect. She was my first love. I've managed to hold that picture in my head and I've never forgotten about her.
I do believe in love at first sight.
I also loved enough to not see the person (a different one/ ex-wife) screwing me over, thats the blinding one.

I think we're influenced by movies and television - it's a lot easier to establish a relationship by having a person fall for another person by looking at them and then doing something stupid rather than show the drawn out process of talking to one another, getting to know one another and then realising you're in love with the other person. In my opinion, love is blind, but sometimes love at first sight can exist, but more often in movies than in real life - love at first sight can be somewhat superficial.

    Yes, Love is blind.
That's the reason why we fall in love at first sight.

well, as far as the love is blind part, i dont think it is actually refering to a person that is blind. it is saying that when you love a person that you cant see the faults in them, you only see the good. and people believe in love at first sight because it is romantic and sometimes if you see a person, you instantly like them.

I'm with Owner of the GD Universe. The whole "love is blind" is referring to the fact that you don't see the bad. That is why you can have love at first sight. You don't see the bad in them so you fall straight in love. If love wasn't blind there wouldn't be much love at first sight.

At first reading the question, my response is "Because we're (people) are idiots."

But seeing as to how I'm only 15 I don't think that would go over too well with just that, soo...

Love at first sight. That's hard. Because of the fact (and I just explained this in one of my questions) that real true love, can take years, or even decades to accomplish.

To truly love someone, you have to know them. And to know someone-truly know them-takes time.

I hear a lot of people saying that love is blind. Love isn't blind; it just makes people who think they're in it blind. And Love at First Sight doesn't exist... only infatuation at first sight exists...

"We" doesn't classify all people. Everyone believes different things. Those two quotes are completely different half the population probably believes one while the while the rest believe the other.

Personally I think there is "lust" at first sight, but not love. Love is something deeper then a simple glance. That is way too shallow for true love.

I'm down with the whole "love is blind" business. I think that once you love someone then their physical appearance is enhanced. Everyone may think you are blind for not seeing their faults, but you love everything about that person even their "faults".

I dont think there is such a thing as "love at first sight." An attraction, yes. but definitely not real love. the only thing that can be found at first sight is attraction.

love is blind, love at first sight is just when you run full speed into someone that you never saw coming.
