  • it's not imagination. i lived in georgia for awhile. was told it's not a sting, they are peeing. either way, it hurts.
  • Well, it is if you follow the philosophy that says everything around you is your imagination/ a dream. However, the first time I ever got stung by an ant, I didn't know their stings were supposed to hurt... especially not so much.
  • According to my Sis in law in Missouri THOSE SUCKERS HURT when they bite! :-(
  • You bet they hurt - I had 'never' known of them before and stepped in a Big Ant Hill and I got attacked and really sick - I was covered from the waist down
  • Imagine this: OW!
  • It really hurts. In fact, they kind of feel like fire.
  • They hurt like a MFer. I spent a few summers in Georgia, and had my arm covered with them. It is a burning sensation that makes you want to tear your skin off.
  • They realy hurt. Why? Because when they bite they are taking chunks of your flesh wih them and their saliva is an acidic solution. People have acctually died from being bitten by them. Especially children.
  • I agree its not your imagination. But the people in Australia would say that the bite of the Jack Jumper Ant or Bulldog is more painful and dangerous. They're right from what I've heard some people in Australia have died from bulldog or jack jumper ants.Besides Jack Jumpers eat honey bees like candy.
  • WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??? Have you never stood in an ant bed and only found out because you felt them biting your legs?
  • Not only will fire ant bites hurt, repeated bites can lead to illness and shock requiring emergency care. Have been bitten over time and now must wear long pants & sox with rubber band barriers when mowing Florida lawn. The bites have a deep core of poison and can leave marks and scars that take years to fade on anyone with fair, sensitive skin. Massage and fade cream help, as does self-tanner that makes bite marks blend in with skin tone.
