I believe it was made in the 1980s. It is just someone reading the letters he wrote, mostly to his brother. I don't know how to get it. It is considered a classic so it can't be THAT hard to find...it's on DVD.
Actually, it's at Netflix. You can't stream it but you can order it. It costs money and you need an account though.
