For me, it would be the same as when I read about a conspiracy theory. I do a lot of research into current world events, and I see a lot of government conspiracy theories.
I cross reference the information as much as possible, and when I find a shred of actual 'evidence' to support the theory, then it is no longer a theory. Conspiracy theories are only theories until there is evidence of any kind, they then become 'theories' or contemplations.
Faith is much the same for me. Once I find a shred of evidence to prove or disprove it's content, I will then change my faith to superstition or the reverse.
I am the kind of person who never says never, and I believe anything is possible. I have a very open mind, but I am not gullible. I do my homework and think on things before I make my decisions.

They are interchangeable. Superstition is what you call the other guy's faith.
