If the batter attempts to bunt at the third strike and misses the ball and the catcher drops the ball, can the runner advance to first or is he out for missing the third strike?

    It is the same as swingingat the pitch. He can advance to first on the drop ball by the catcher asuming of course that there is either no one on first or a runner on first with 2 outs.
