It all started when a man mistakenly called his S/O by his other lovers name, Peggy. The s/o, Margaret, was understandably upset, so the guy told her that he had been told Peggy was a nickname for Margaret and that he wanted to try it out... his S/O bought it. She was forever known as Peggy, and the nickname grew to be accepted by all.
