if you sign up for the army at 18 but didnt pass the fat test, can you get out of the contract?

    if you dont pass meps you havent signed the contact and can leave whenever its only at the end of MEPS that you sign the contract i didnt pass that test either my first try but i kept at it and lost the weight i needed too (plus i sucked in a little i wont lie but i was still way better than i was)

    As far as I know, no. Not before bct at least, it's likely you will have to complete bct at the end of which you will meet tape/weight standards trust me, if you fail you will simply be recycled, and you really don't want that. After you get to your unit in the RA if you continually fail to meet tape/weight standards yes, you will be discharged, but really that isn't something you want. Anything other than an honorable discharge is not viewed favorably in the eyes of prospective employers. So, suck it up private.

    That's not a valid enough excuse to get out of your contract according to the Army. Here's a website if you are still determined to leave.
    "Joining the military is not like getting a job a McDonalds™. You can't simply quit because you don't like it. You signed a contract, and you took an oath, and you are legally (and morally) obligated to complete the terms of the contract, even if you don't like it.

    One can easily get discharged from the Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP ), but getting discharged once you are on active duty, before your active duty commitment is up, is no easy task. There are some ways one can be discharged from active duty, but none of them involve "just quitting:"
