I think he has done a lot for removing the taboo of death in our modern society which is good for learning to cope with death of family members and other loved ones. He has also captured the public fascination with the human body and "humanised" pathology in my opinion. However, I also think he does it more for the publicity and shock of it all than anything else, which to me isn't the reason one should go into his profession at all. I aslo don't think he is a genius, he's just doing dissecting like many other professionals, but the difference is he is showing it to the public. By the way, I've flagged this question to be moved to a different category. When asking questions you should ensure they are put in the relevant category fdor the ease of other people using the site.
