There were 20,163 housing units at an average density of 106.2/km sq (275.0/mi sq). The racial makeup of the town was 76.42% White, 7.89% African American, 0.98% Native American, 2.21% Asian, 0.23% Pacific Islander, 7.92% from Race (United States Census)other races, and 4.36% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 18.56% of the population. There were 18,557 households out of which 38.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.8% were Marriagemarried couples living together, 14.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.6% were non-families. 18.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.90 and the average family size was 3.27. In the town the population was spread out with 31.6% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 93.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.7 males.
