  • Had a job of one sort or another continuously from the age of six! Career-wise, worked for a major U.S. corporation for 30 years, rising from entry level to vice president. Retired at age 55 nearly 15 years ago. Am, without complaint, currently caring for my totally dependent S/O of 36 years, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease diagnosed nearly 10 years ago. He no longer recognizes me...and hasn't for the past 3 years. A year or so ago, when he could still speak, he asked me "Do you have another job?" I told him, no, that he was the only pain-in-ass I work for! We both laughed...as we do all the time. He may not know me, but he understands and enjoys my constant humor. Unaware of what the future held, thank God, we've both had an amazing life...and it continues.
