How come McDonald's got rid of the McRib?

    It's just not part of their core menu. It cycles on and off again like some other items and they use it to try to create a little extra advertising buzz.

    McD permanently took the McRib off the menu rotation Dec. 31, 2005. No real reason given.

    EDIT

    I haven't revisited this question since 2005. Since then, McD has brought back the McRib as an limited-time, annual event. Enjoy.
