is it illegal in texas for a 18 yr old girl to date a 16 yr old guy? If we are not having sex.

    It is generally legal, however if his parents objected and filed a protection order against you, it would become illegal.

    Contact your local child services for exact legal ages for you and he. Might save you a great deal of trouble later.
    If not is he worth waiting for? Only two years before he is an adult.

    The legal age of concent in Texas is 16 with parental concent otherwise it is 18.
    If his parents have given approval for you two to date then there is no problem sex or not. Best to get that permission in writting to remove any questions.

    Generally,the guy isn't going to complain about dating an older woman. Legally,you must get consent from his parents,even if your not having sex...I would do it for your own safety. It may make you feel like a child having to ask,but you want to protect yourself. What if you break up and he says you tried to seduce him and he is only a kid your going to be in some trouble, PROTECT yourself and then go on with the relationship. It's better to be safe than sorry. Hope this helps,hope everything works out for the both of you.
