Either the magnet that holds the disc is weak and is giving the cd too much slack to spin, or the bars that the laser slides on needs oiling. Most likely it's the magnet because cd's have to spin much faster than dvd's, and it's probably trying to load so much stuff, the cd spins off the spinner. It also might need to be oiled so that the laser can have more mobility to read stuff. Like the laser might have to move to the outside of the cd, and gets stuck on the bars. The part that its been on is oiled, but the other part isn't, so when you push reset, it can slide back down the rail its been on to read from the inside. This is all personal experience.
