    Asker's Pick

Selected by the asker, A. (What's this?)

Don't really care usually, but at worst, it might make me unfriend them simply to not have a million posts all the time. It's not for me, I don't post much of my life on there. Random thoughts sure. Pics of what I've been up to, sure. Comments on friends activities, yeah, but that's about it.

It's like those lifeblogs, people like that assume that if it happens to them, someone will be interested in it. Feels like a variation on narcissim to me, but feel free to correct me.

I just hide them so that I wont hurt their feeling or get frustrated with all the ocean of status of their feelings :P

It is not a question of dislike - if they want to broadcast every mundane detail of their life, it's fine with me. I think it can be overbearing for many people, so they start ignoring them or unfriending them. I don't think it's wise to post a lot of personally identifiable information because what goes on the internet stays on the internet ... even if you delete it. Any post can be seen by "friends" once removed - if your coworker is your friend, and is also "friends" with your boss, and he commnents on your photo or a post, the boss will be able to see it, even if she's not on your friends list.

I don't dislike the people (they're probably just average persons like the rest of us) but I do not see the point of Facebook. It seems like so much self-indulgent nattering to me. Many of my friends are are Facebook (monkey see, monkey do) but I don't go there. So to speak.

I had a FB friend that would post:
Should I have chicken or beef for dinner?
    I think I'll have chicken
    MMM that chicken was good
oh, dear, the chicken gave me gas
Back in a minute, gotta go potty.

These posts were done over about a half hour or so. She did this type of thing all day long and got mad when people dropped her as a friend.

I also have two friends that post videos for a couple of hours each night. I have gotten to the point if it has their name beside it I just ignore it.
