dieting n exercise are the best ways to lose weight, but, if u r expecting to be slim, like a model or something, it depends on ur body figure. some of us r just made to have a big broad structure. but i believe u just wanted to lose weight, so yeah, it will help.

being a vegan? really? u don't want to feel those beautiful exotic sense of the world of taste? yes? then good luck!

REALLY!?!?! Do you know how hard and expensive that will be? No Milk? No eggs, and most importantly NO CHEESE!!!!!
Those things are good for you and contain great nutrients. Meat and dairy products all have a great source of protein. Fish, chicken, and dairy products contain very little carbs. Fish and chicken have almost no carbs or fat.
honestly it would probably be easier to lost weight while eating animal products.
Just try to watch what you eat: low carbs, low calories, no fried foods, you know the basics.
If you are serious about burning fat and are looking for a truely hardcore supplement to cut your fat then check out this list:

Just copy and paste it, i'm not sure why it didn't turn into a link.

if your planning to be pregnant in the future...if your female, then no. it can create problems later on if you never been a vegan your whole life (knowledge and such)

Veganism can be hazardous to your health if you do not eat a good balance of nutrients, protein and fibre are no problem however.
Also many foods which are vegan are also high in salt and fat, crisps (chips in the US) for instance, also bananas and nuts are choc full of energy.
Just try eating more fresh fruit and veg, cut back on snacking and exercise regularly.
Personally, I've been vegetarian for over 12 years now, and I'm still struggling to keep my weight under 12 stone (roughly 168 lbs), in fact I've put on weight since I gave up meat!
On the plus side, I no longer suffer from chronic colds and flu and feel more energetic!
It's not for everyone, so be careful!

This is about the worst idea possible. Obesity is caused primarily by the overconsumption of carbohydrates and vegan diets are typically very high in them. This is why, except for the ones that practically starve themselves, so many vegetarians are overweight.
    Do the exact opposite. Go on an high fat/all-meat diet. You never have to worry about hunger as there is no calorie counting. Since you would be eating almost no carbs you can pig out if you like and still lose weight quickly. It worked for me. Read this;

It's good to become a vegan..no problem with that..however if you do this only to lose weight you may find you start having health problems..
Also when you begin to eat the foods you eat now again the weight will pile back on and more will be added!
You need to follow a balanced diet and exercise..crash weight loss never works and is extremly unhealthy..

Not every person can become a Vegan and be healthy. I think a quality low carb diet, Kelp tablets, with adequate exercise is most healthy for weight loss. The link has the best Nutrition Plan I have found.

bad idea, besides as long as your at a healthy weight then you don't need to loose weight, but if you really want to then make sure that you only eat a certain amount of calories a day. (see calorie chart for amount of calories that should be taken in every day at http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/estimated-calorie-requirement ) if this doesn't work then find another calorie chart from a different source.

YES!!! it is a good idea.

Go one step further and eat a raw diet. People will always attack vegans and say it's not healthy. However they refuse to take in consideration the people who do it right.

You will lose weight if you burn more calories than you consume. Be sure to research proper vegan diets before you do it.

Learning how to calorie count is a lot easier than learning how to become a vegan and lose weight. If you want to be healthy, you need to cook a LOT of food and plan your meals. You will find yourself buying food with all kinds of weird ingredients that is made to taste like non vegan food. It is not healthy.
Here's a calorie counting site that will help you understand more about the food you are eating. It is free and easy to use.

Being a Vegan may not necessary be able to lose weight tho. I have friends who look "wealthy" in size although they being a Vegan. I am not saying it would not help, but may not be the most effective way.

You could still enjoy the food all you want. You would need to find out what food that would help you on that. Probably the info from this web will help:

    Hope this help....
