  • Yes! You have to provide an unobstructive area in front of your mailbox(street) so postal worker can leave your mail. If it is blocked they are not required to leave your mail. Thus they will send you a notice to pick up your mail at the post office. Hope this answers the question.
  • This really depends on where you live... In my city, the mail boxes are not on the curb, and our postal employees walk their routes, they do not drive to each mailbox. In this case, there is obviously no reason to have the mailbox available to a vehicle parked on the street. However, in a nearby city, the postal worker will not leave the mail if the mailbox cannot be reached from his seat inside the truck, and he often leaves not-so-friendly notes reminding the residents to not block the mailbox. I would say it just all depends on the location of your mailbox.
