  • You continue to be legally married until the divorce is finalized. There is a state of "legal separation" which can be entered into where you remain married, but there is some acknowledgement of the status of separation. I'm not sure if you have to file for that specifically or if it automatically comes with a filing for divorce.
  • Yes, legally you're considered married. Only until your divorce has become finalized by the state, in which, your marriage took place, are you NO longer married. Once you get the divorce, then you are legally able to get married again, but I wouldn't rush into another marriage because the last thing you want to do is get married again, only for it to end in divorce, which usually happens when people overzealous and get married; shortly after a previous marriage.
