If my husband purchases property before our divorce is final, can I claim it as part of our assets in my settlement since we are still considered married?

    If you are in the state of California, you are automatically entitled to half of all his assets. If you are not, unfortunately, if he purchases it soley in his name and hires an attorney to make it legal, OR he could sell the property to one of his family members for a $1 and you cant touch it.
