A buyer arranged to purchase my home through his sales agent. Because I did not use an agent, do I (the seller) pay the sales commission, or does the buyer?

Whatever it says in your CONTRACT is what will prevail ... More than likely; the real estate fees will be part of YOUR closing cost .... I'd advise you to get a real estate attorney to look out for YOUR interest ; as it could save you a few $1,000 .... +5
