What kind ??? The kind of small game(animals)that don't hibernate all winter and run for it's lives when a lynx is chasing after them. Wild rabbits, foxes, turkeys, birds, squirrels, sheep, small deer, basically anything that the lynx can over power and take down.

there is a certain kind of rabbit or actully its a breed of hare that is there staple food in fact lynx is so dependant on this animal for food that lynx population rates rise and fall in sync with this hare's population rates this is almost 100% of the lynx's diet
like
[hint: its none of the below listed animals espeacally not foxes they are predators too and might eat the lynx]

Sorry to pop your bubble there birdboy, but your information is inaccurate. While the lynx has a definite appetite for hare, when a readily available supply is not present they WILL attack all of the above mentioned animals to survive. I don't know how much of a chance you've had to actually observe or even see a lynx in it's natural habitat, but I have had the good fortune to see them many times in the boreal forests of Canada. As for your notion that a fox would attack and eat a lynx ... well that's just the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You clearly don't know what you're talking about. A fox would take on your house cat or a chicken and win, but certainly not a lynx. The lynx is a much bigger and more powerful predator than the fox. And for your information ... I have witnessed lynx chase down various other animals, including foxes.

i asked staple food of the lynx the snowshoe hare is more than 51% of the lynx's diet plus how many times have you seen the lynx because they are probably the most elusive animal in north america
by birdboy on July 16th, 2010
the answer is the snowshoe hare
by birdboy on July 16th, 2010
you still didnt get the right answer

Right by who's standard, yours ?? Actually I have answered your question correctly. The fact that you don't want to accept that is because of your lack of experience. What you know is what you've read, what I know is what I have experienced. When you grow up you will learn that book knowledge is limited to an author's point of view, where as experience will teach you that there is always more than one way to look at anything. To prove my point I'll ask you a question. What is a snowshoe hare, if not a wild rabbit ??
