    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

The origin of this phrase is linked to U.S. Rep. John Rousselot. The phrase was printed on May 6, 1976, in the Arcadia Tribune, a California newspaper, as Rousselot explained the greatest American fabrications. President Ronald Reagan later popularized the phrase in a speech in 1986.
