An asteroid impact is the most likely probability.

If nothing else takes Earth out first the final end will be when the Sun becomes a red giant and absorbs the planet.

Those are two different questions. The world will probably end in billions of years' time when the sun reaches the end of its life and expands to gobble up the earth. Humans will probably be gone long before that unless we find a way to travel to other planets and start colonising them. One of the biggest threats is disease. A really virulent disease that is as infectious as the flu, but deadly and incurable.

The truth will hit us like a meteor. It will kill us all. No longer will we have another to blame but ourselves. It is when we see just what fools we have been. In other words, total destruction.
It feels good after being destroyed. After a while one welcomes the destruction after being destroyed brick by brick to lose one's self. Only to find one's self.

Of all of the dooms day scenarios I have ever heard, I think the most likely is a collision with some other large space objects ... coincidentally, the Hindu end of world, goes like this "And Shiva the Destroyer, Death, the Shatterer of Worlds, shall cleave the world asunder with His mighty Sword of Stars." ... sounds like a big collision to me!

  If you're asking how human life on our world will end, I'm bettng on an extinction cocktail involving disease, famine, and war. It likely will not be an explosive cataclysm. It will more likely be a slow and drawn out road to oblivion unless we figure out how to colonize alien worlds.

End of the World: When our sun collapses into a black hole and sucks the world into it.

End of human race: A super volcano, meteor, comet, the black hole will end the human race, or e.t.c.

Your asking two questions here? the world wont end for at least five billion years, when the suns nuclear furnace grinds to a halt for lack of fuel, but in reality five billion years is an eternity! As for humans possibly within the next couple of hundred years? primarily due to global warming, caused by burning a couple of oceans of oil and releasing an unimaginable amount of co2, this co2 is absorbed in green plants,but there isn't enough plants to take up the enormous excess of co2 and so this gas rises to the upper atmosphere and seemingly reflects back to earth light and heat escaping from the earth, so the activities of man are causing the earth to overheat, what action are we taking to combat this? nothing, the last remaining oil deposits are now being drilled several miles beneath the ocean floor leading to the possibility of gulf like disasters becoming a reality!!
