I gave up golf decades ago but still follow it a little. I've noticed golf courses advertising that they have carts with GPS's. Why would you want this feature?

I can hit drives 250+, but often the ball mark (on the face of the driver) is near the heel of the club. When chipping / pitching, I notice the impact mark on the toe of the club. How can there be this much difference on impact points? Any suggestion?
