Launch your email program by placing the mouse pointer over the email icon and left-clicking twice. Once the program has opened, write the email as you would any other.
Identify the emotion you are wishing to convey. Move the mouse pointer to the position where you would like to place the emoticon. Right-click once. Type the emoticon that you would like to place in the body of the email. Common emoticons include :) for a smile, ;) for a wink and :P for sticking out a tongue. Modern email programs will interpret the emoticon text and render a small graphical file of the associated emoticon.
