    Yangon is a city in the southern region of Myanmar, a country in Southeast Asia that borders Thailand, Laos, China and Bangladesh. The city is at the mouth of the Yangon River on the Gulf of Martaban, just south of Bago Yamo Forest. Yangon is 360 miles south of the city of Mandalay. Yangon is sometimes referred to as Rangoon.
