    Assuming that the lot is square, a 50 square meter lot would be 7.071 meters, or 23.199 feet, on each side. The formula for square footage is:

    Length X Width = Square Footage

    In a square, the length and width will be equal, effective changing the formula to:

    Length ^ 2 = Square Footage

    Length can be solved for by taking the square root of the square footage.
