    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

According to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln Extension, the fall-blooming bulbs "colchicums should be planted immediately after arrival or purchase in the fall. (They often bloom in storage if not planted immediately.)" The most common fall-blooming bulbs are colchicums and Crocus speciosis, and they should be planted at the same time.
