please rinse the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher.

You must have hard water like I do. A water softener would help greatly. I have yet to get one of those. The company that made my dishwaher recommends both jet dry liquid and Cascade Complete powder. If I don't use those brands then I get the hard water stains.

I never use jet dry. I use vinegar in my jet dry dispenser, and it works like a charm. We have hard water here, and I used to get spots, even with Cascade and Jet Dry. I know use the Electrosol tabs and vinegar in the jet dry dispenser. I hope this will help someone.

Your problem could be one of two things. 1) Hard water. Outside of getting a water softener there really isn't much of a cure for that one. If you are unsure if you have hard water or not, simply take a sample to a local fish store and most of them will test it for free, or call your city's water department and ask. 2) Most likely though it is because you are using too much detergent. How often have you said to yourself, gee there's a lasagna pan in there, better fill up the little dispenser AND give it an extra big 'ole squirt just cuz it's really greasy? Try this, place a coffee cup standing upright on the bottom rack of your empty dishwasher. Fill the cup up to the brim with vinegar and run it through a cycle. This should clean out any residue that is in there currently. Then, the next time you do the dishes use HALF the detergent you normally use. See if that helps. Good luck!

This guy wants about 70 dollars. It will filter all your water (including the water you drink). Cartridges are cheap (you want a 1 to 5 micron filter) the smaller the more contaminates it removes, but you loose flow rate yo... http://cgi.ebay.com/Whole-House-Water-Filter-Clear-Sediment-Carbon-Drinking_W0QQitemZ160242204128QQihZ006QQcategoryZ20684QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I was having the same problem, I tried everything, Jetdry, bleach, vinegar, different detergents. It was terrible, I couldn't even scrub it off by hand... everyone told me that my glasses were permanently scared from a cheap detergent I had been using. Well today I picked up this stuff at the grocery store called Super Concentrated Lemi Shine 'the hard water expert' it is made by Envirocon Technologies.... anyway it really did work, my glasses are sparkling like brand new so it looks like I won't have to throw them away after all.
