    I like that the public schools in my area now have the kids wearing uniforms (school color polo shirts and black or khaki pants/shorts) Some families are unable to afford new clothes for their children as often as others are. I think it makes it a lot easier for some underprivileged children.

    a good thing about them would be that kids cant hold it over certian kids heads that they have better clothes than them..

    I have to wear uniform,but I think it's ok. I mean,I do want to wear regular clothes sometimes,but the uniforms are ok.

    i wish i went to a school that had uniforms. no taking time to find something to wear in the morning, no cool kids thinking theyre the shit even more because of their 50$ name brand shirt, just seems like itd be better. people who disagree with schools having a uniform (usually) say it takes away the students right to express themselves but i mean... youre at school. thats not what youre there for. express yourself with your actions not your clothes.

    Admittedly I might feel differently if I really thought about it now, but in high school any suggestion of school uniforms or even a strict dress code made me bristle, especially when the uniforms required short skirts. I never went to a school that required such uniforms while I was there. If they had, I probably would have been expelled for refusing to comply.

    Makes it easy to identify who is from what school. Kinda nice if the uniform is speckled or linearly designed or cross checkered or just like what the navy servicemen wear among Jap studes with a tie and a flap on the back. Cool. Makes studes proud of their school. haha

    in general, I like it.

    but social discrimination is lessened but it still exists...

    kids use accessories like owning an iphone, or expensive shoes, and having nice jewelry... to subtly dictate social hierarchy.

    But it does promote school pride, and it makes individuals part of a group...
    which is an important social behavior to learn.
