    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

According to the Internal Revenue Service, nonresident aliens who are studying abroad or working for a foreign government, medical residents, students who are working on a dissertation or who are employed by an educational institution and members of the Amish community are all exempt from paying Social Security taxes.
