    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Oil drilling was not as controversial upon it's arrival as it currently is in our global society, drilling for oil was seen as a prestigious and lucrative line of work. The first oil drill invented was the Fauvelle system of drilling, which used hydraulics instead of bits. The inventor of this hydro-bit was an Englishman named Beart, but was designed by the French engineer Fauvelle.
