If old furniture doesn't have the manufacturer's name, how can you find out it's value without having it appraised?

You can research the style of the furniture and see what similar pieces sold for but that is not highly accurate without having a professional eye. A lot of the value in antique furniture does depend upon on its current condition (i.e. is it original or has had complete restoration, which is bad in most cases) and the materials used will often tell about the local of who manufactured it. Your best bet is to have an appraiser look at it and make sure it is someone who deals in antique furniture.
