    Although many people think of graduation gifts as extravagant, parents should be able to afford them. Depending on the family's income level and economic situation, an appropriate dollar amount ranges from around $50 to over $1000.

    On the Other: More Personal Gift

    Some parents want to give their daughter a more personal gift along with a monetary gift. In this case, the cash amount may be much lower because the parents also spend money on something else for the daughter.

    Bottom Line

    The appropriate cash gift amount varies from family to family. Even next-door neighbors have varying financial situations. Sometimes it's easier to talk to the graduate to get a feel for what she thinks might be appropriate and together the family can come up with a compromise that makes everyone happy.

    I would say about 500-1500 so the daughter could buy some ssstuff for college or on new clothes or something really important you should approve what she wants before she gets it like if she spends it on going on a trip you could tell her yes or no what ever u thin is appropiate

    This depends on so many variables, but I think it can be simplified by using one of the variables that will be known. I'd say 20 x her weekly allowance.
