They seem to think it gives them a feeling of power over something, even if they do get to run the household. They just need that major ego boost. Can you tell me why they channel surf so much?

i've totally never experienced that male stereotype. most of my bfs are artsy fartsy 'why are you watching t.v. instead of painting' types. 'cause i want to *****, now stop painting and fix me a margarita!'

Because women change the channel once every 34 days. That's just WRONG! How do they keep track of all the good games and shows???

Not in our family. I control it and usually set what we will be watching, doing all the timers things.

We have 2 universal remotes. One for me and one for her. (mine has more buttons) When she picks up her remote, TV is over for awhile. She will immediatley bring up the program guide and start going through the selections. She has to stop and read all about every third or forth program. Then discuss it! "Oh, we saw that. Last summer remember? Yeah, the girl wants the guy to blah blah blah, what was her name? Was that the girl that played on that one show? You know, The skinny blonde" (yeah, that norrows it down some) 45 minutes later she decides there is nothing on. Puts the remote down and I can go back to watchin' the game.:)

we actually do rock, paper, scissors to decide every night unless there is a person allready watching something, then they get the remote untill the show is done. then they have to pass it on. sometimes there is a wrestling match or a food fight for it,depends on the mood in the house!

In my house he has the remote and I have the computer....works really good for us. But why do men have the remote more?.....because we let them:))
