Some would say yes, under today's understanding of the condition he would fall under certain aspects of it, i.e. being super smart in some areas (maths, theory, etc) yet having problems with say tying his shoes, social appearances, etc.

I doubt it. He may have had a social disorder or learning disability but I don't think that he was autistic.

I think he may have had aspergers syndrome which is an austism spectrum disorder. But there is no way to ever really know for sure.
