  • Online? Is there a worse method? That's like learning to speak a language by writing it. The only proper way to learn how to drive is to actually drive, learning from an experienced driver (preferably a driving instructor) in the passenger seat at all times. If you don't know how to do something (drive manual) then they can show you. Learning online is something I wouldn't do if I had a choice. If you are at the point where you can't legally drive yet, then get a book from your local DMV on driving tips, etc. and go around with your parents. Get them to show you things. They can take you to an empty parking lot and let you just get a feel for things (if they trust you, of course) before you actually get your license. But, to answer your question, it took me 3 months of driving lessons and classroom time (not straight, but weekly things) to complete my drivers training. I already knew how to driver, per say, but the training taught me all of the nitty bitty stuff like how to drive stick, how to react when an oncoming car has their brights on, how to avoid a skid, etc. There's some things that can't be done online...I'd say you wasted your money. Hope this helps, Good luck

  • Didn't know you could take driver's ed online... prob a scam... sorry... Any way, I've been doing driver's ed taught by present and former (retired) cops... great... been doing that monday, wed, and friday for past few weeks... it's really a 2 week class (3 hours each) but we don't have driver's ed when school is out or cut short... and we've had three days off and 1 half day (short day) so far... ends next monday (10/19/09) with friday off...
