I think the turbines that collect power from the tides are a great idea.

I would say Wind Power too. It's kind of irritating that they're getting so much resistance from the people from Cape Cod(though, it may not be Cape Cod, I know it's somewhere in Mass) who don't want the turbines blocking their view!

Solar power, because i understand it is the most efficient energy source and the solar pannels can be placed way out in the desert so wont be an eye sore for us guys. =)

ethanol. it works for cars, it could be used in power plants to generate electricity. the plants that are used to create it could be grown locally and it could be made within the country. it could potentially helps us be more self-sufficient.

my favorite part about ethanol is that it is clean burning and it reduces carbon dioxide, which is a major contributor to global warming!

Wind power....day or night, rain or shine....there is always a breeze at least that can turn a large turbine.

Solar, definitely. Silicon Valley is starting to tackle solar energy. They are still a long way off, but solar will definitely be part of the enery mix. As the panels become more efficient and less expensive, we will see more and more of them, even on homes.

The Stirling Engine and its' modern variation the Proe Afterburner engine.
These are some of the most efficient engines that turn a temperature differential into usable energy.
