  • Yes. It is necessary for people to have a signalling system between them which shows how they react to each other. Most times it stays in the "central zone": mildly nice things make people mildly happy, mildly bad things make people mildly peeved. But such a system has to have medium and high levels, and Hate is the highest level of the negative side. It is a necessary part of the system to have people hate those who have done great harm to them. It is bad when people summon up Hate when they have not, in fact, done great harm but are only related to people who have, or share the same religion or whatever. So it is OK to hate those responsible for 9/11, but not to hate those who share the same religion, skin colour or nationality.
  • Hate is a killer. It causes illness and disease. You hurt no one but yourself by hating someone.
  • Hate is spawned by anger. Anger is the reaction to fear. Ultimately, someone who "Hates" something actually fears that thing. If you do not believe me, then next time someone gets angry at you, ask yourself what that person is scared about, and it will make sense.
  • Hate can also be spawned by pride, envy and jealousy, as well as the good point that "xdragoox" made.
  • Its the devil syndrome. Angels on your right shoulder, Devil on your left. A tug of war.
  • If you didn't know how to hate - would you know how to love?
