  • I'll give you two, because they are the most memorable. My 18th and my 21st. My 18th was memorable (in a bad way) because I had taken the time to move from one end of WA to the other to watch my best friend's baby so she could work full time. The plan was to come down, and a few days later it would be my 18th birthday, so we were going to go out that night. Well, my friend's husband didn't want to drive us (neither of us drove, so he had to take us) even though that's part of the reason I came down early, so for my 18th birthday I ended up sitting in their apartment watching the asshole play video games. For my 21st birthday, I went to Las Vegas. It was only supposed to be my BF and I and one of his best friends and his wife. The 4 of us. Then one night the fest friend invited HIS cousin and his wife to go with us. Now there are 6. I didn't know the cousin all that well, but decided, whatever, should be fun! Turns out, on the night of my birthday the cousin and his wife get into a fight and he starts screaming at her from 1/2 inch from her face and starts to shake her and physically drag her out of the club. The bouncers had to take him in the back and talk to him, and eventually let him go. He came back to the room, after we had found his wife and they started fighting, he was saying some really horrible things to her, so the remainder of the night and that morning was spent playing referee to their squabble. Happy Friggin Birthday to me! I've had some good birthdays too, but those I will never forget.
  • I was 8 and I got a pony. I was the only girl living in the city (philly) who I know that got that. It was the best. So what if he was only rented for a few hours. :-)
  • When I turned 50 and had a big surprise party. I am very bad when the attention is on me but it was a great time:)
  • When I was 6 I got this train set and it would move around the tracks and go choo choo. For some reason I was fascinated by it.
  • My 8th birthday when my brother filled the little swimming pool we had in the backyard with tadpoles. He did it so quickly too. To this day, my mom has no idea how he got so many tadpoles in that pool in such a short amount of time. Like 5 minutes, maybe even less, and that pool was FILLED with tadpoles. I like to joke that my brother has secret teleportation powers.
  • My most memorable birthday was almost 20 years ago to date. So you probably know what I'm going to say, yep, my birthday is Oct. 17,the day of the big Loma Prieta earthquake. I was in an old Victorian house, which wasn't anchored to it's foundation, so the whole house did a kind of a "Shimmy Shimmy Coco Bop" as it responded to the earthquake! The elderly owner of the property lived onsite, in an old-fashioned tankhouse, up on legs, which swayed back-and-forth at an alarming angle! We lost telephone contact and P.G. & E. thru most of Fremont,Cal. and most of the East Bay Area, which increased wide-spread panic as people were unable to reach family and friends to check on their well-being. For most of the day, the only news was thru battery-operated radios and the roads were unusable for much of the day, and in some areas on into the next day. Now I can joke about it, as I tell people my birthday is so popular that its being talked about on all the news stations, but I'll have to say that was definitely my most memorable birthday!
