    According to the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, 104.7 million U.S. households had cable television as of September 2009. Of those households, 62.6 million subscribed to basic cable service and 42.1 million subscribed to digital cable. The number of households and businesses subscribed to cable Internet was 41.2 million.
