If you get excessive emails about answers to your questions, comments from Aber's, you can always disable the notification alert by going here: Click on your AB nickname----> click the "My Settings" tab----> Below that tab, click "preference"-----> disable the ones you don't want,----> click on "Update".

I wish you could choose not to receive the notifications on this site as well - I already have it turned off for my email address.

Jodie I think it's in response to complaints about tracking comments. I myself find it extremely irritating. I got in a thread that was setting off my comment light every few minutes, and was taking over my profile page. In fact it was a thread between you and SB. LOL Come to think of it, I was also caught in another thread involving SB. So if we ban SB........J/K! I'm with you, it's unnecessary. I read something about this in the last blog. Joel stated his reasons for implementing this. I just don't remember exactly what he said. If you take this to the blog, I will back you up. You're much better at writiing such things than I am.

As an explanation, please see the screenshot below. Not to pick on any of the principals involved at all, because I'm sure they would've preferred not to be in my Feedback spotlight all day <grin>. This is simply a good illustration of what I had in mind when I asked the question. Unrelated to email notifications, BTW.

My thoughts exactly. I was away for a month or two not long ago and when I came back on A/B I found the new layout really irritating and confusing, and it seems like it must be alot more hard work too for the A/B staff. Needless to say I haven't been on here as much as before.
