    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Withdrawal symptoms caused by discontinuing the use of opiates---heroin, morphine, codeine, Oxycontin, methadone, Dilaudid---typically begin within 12 hours of the last usage (heroin) and 30 hours (methadone and others). According to the The Partnership for a Drug-free America, withdrawal symptoms from heroin usually peak between 48 and 72 hours after use and subside after a week.
