I'll combine the two existing answers as I often find necessary... Most, but not all, vehicles have adjustment capabilities for their lights. From the sounds of it you found (like tollers said) the, or one of two, adjustment screw. Turning this screw should not loosen the light housing at all. It is normally a torx screw, so make sure you use the correct tool. Turn on the headlights so that the light projects onto a wall. Make a mark on the wall, then turn the screw a fair bit. Go back to the wall and see if the light beam has moved (see if it's still on that mark you made). If it has moved, see if it moved left or right, or up or down. You can then use this new found info to adjust the lights as necessary for proper lighting.
