When the schools closed, they do not want anybody vandalizing or stealing stuff. Im sure plenty of idiots would vandalize the school if it was accessible without penalty. Although it might not seem like it, there are valuable things in school like computers or even desks and chairs. if somebody steals them, then they have to be replaced, and that costs money, which schools do not have.
