  • Super Bowl parties can be as much fun for the little ones as they are for adults. If you are inviting friends with children to your Super Bowl party, you will want to make the event as kid-friendly as possible. With a little planning and careful oversight, you can create a safe, fun party environment for all of your guests.

    Special Entertainment

Many kids love sports, but even the most dedicated little football fans might not have the attention span to watch the entire game on TV. Keep them entertained by having games they can involve themselves in while the adults watch the big game. Have paper football leagues inside, or dedicate an area to playing with a plush football inside. If possible, allow them to play sports-related video games on a separate television set. For the kids who don't like sports, be prepared with a deck of cards, board games and coloring books for them to play with.

    Kid-Friendly Snacks

Kids like to indulge in sugary sweets on Super Bowl Sunday just as much as the adults. But it is a good idea to ask parents about their children's dietary requirements and restrictions before game day. For example, some children have peanut or dairy allergies. A little precaution will help you and your guests avoid an allergic reaction. To make it extra kid-friendly, allow the children to decorate their own cookies or cupcakes--with parental supervision, of course. Have other healthy snacks they can enjoy as well, such as fresh fruits and vegetables.

    A Safe Environment

More than keeping the kids entertained at the party, you want to keep them safe. That way everyone can enjoy the football game without fretting about the children. Before your guests arrive, baby-proof the house by locking any doors to rooms where the children should not be going. Keep stairs gated, and consider cushioning sharp corners. Keep the kids' play area easily viewable from the place where the adults are. If possible, hire a baby-sitter or designate one party guest to keep a watch on the children. To be fair to all guests, you can consider rotating this responsibility each quarter of the game.
