Question

Help answer this question below.

Do you happen to remember any features Internet Explorer v.1 had over previous versions?

Wikipedia has a little info, but not enough.

Please answer for this, and Internet Explorer v. 2 over v. 1., Internet Explorer v. 3 over v.2, Internet Explorer v. 4 over v.3, Internet Explorer v. 5 over v.4?

Trying to compile a document for my twin brothers about Internet Explorer over the years I.E. was in use...Trying to compile a document that talks about features that each version had in common over others, up to and including from v.7 to v.8. I'm also compiling that into a document that acts like a "Training Aid" for them? Just trying to make it easier on them.

Selected by the asker, byankno1. (What's this?)

The main things that IE2 included that IE didn't have was SSL support (for encrypted / secure logins), cookies (to store data), and VRML, an now-obsolete method for rendering vector graphics.

IE3 introduced ActiveX controls (and hence plugins), support for CSS, and Java applets.

IE4 introduced the concept of integration into the desktop environment, as well as basic PNG support.

IE5 was a fairly minor update. It included Autocomplete functionality and the ability to store Favorites offline.

An informative though somewhat biased timeline can be found here:
