Boswellia trees produce a fragrant resin often used as incense (e.g., frankincense and myrrh) and as the basis for some Ayurvedic medications. Recent chemical trials have shown that Boswellia may also have a place in conventional medicine as an anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic and cell growth inhibitor for cancer treatment.
