  • Traumeel is a homeopathic medication that is thought to cut down inflammation and help in the reparation of injured tissue. It is available in many forms such as ointment, drops, cream, tablets and an injectable solution. Side effects of using traumeel are usually minor.

    History

    Though first sold in the United States in 1986, Traumeel has been available in Europe since the 1930s. Initially used to treat animals, it was discovered that Traumeel has anti-inflammatory benefits in humans as well.

    Function

    Traumeel works by increasing temperatures around the inflamed area and increasing blood flow there. It is recommended for people with injuries and conditions such arthritis but should not be used as a substitute for prescribed medication.

    Side Effects

    Though rare, Traumeel can induce some adverse reactions. These reactions include skin rash, breathing troubles or swollen throat.

    Interactions

    Traumeel is not known to have any interactions with any other drugs, says Drugs.com. You should still consult with a physician before beginning any long term therapy.
